Nicaragua is a beautiful and difficult place. Rural and low income people struggle to gain access to healthcare, education, and employment – human cornerstones. Specifically, we learned about two deep challenges:
* Dental services and oral health awareness do not exist in rural areas. This gap catalyzes chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. In 2019 the leaders of our local hospital told us this was their top challenge. We listened.
* Too many girls of low income families struggle to pursue an education past high school, facing steep barriers to meaningful employment and a future outside the home.

We’ve heard and seen all of this on the ground in Nicaragua.
These are not disparate interventions - healthcare, education, and employment are highly interconnected. We are tackling these challenges with one solution!
