Mobile Dentistry
The Sonrisas Felices dental team is led by women Nicaraguan medical professionals who live in the places they serve. We conduct 3+ clinics PER WEEK in remote villages and schools = 150 clinics per year. Over 25,000 people have been served since project inception!
We provide the following services, free to all Nicaraguans: Cleanings - Cavity fillings - Extractions - Consultations - Classroom Education - Kits (toothbrush + paste) - Care in Private Clinics
Funds pay for truck fuel, dentist salary, medical supplies, equipment maintenance, and patient treatment in private clinics when more advanced procedures are needed.
Dentistry at School
Additionally, Sonrisas Felices has the approval to perform procedures on kids at the schools, with parental consent. Historically, 25% of our clinics take place in schools.
According to the Director of the hospital and multiple community leaders in the barrios we serve, we are transforming the state of oral health in the entire municipality.
